Holiday Inn Express Skopje City Centre

Holiday Inn Express Skopje City Centre

8/10 Good
"The Holiday Inn Express Skopje City Center is a nice, clean, well maintained hotel in the heart of the tourist district in Skopje. Many key tourist sites like the Bazaar, Kale Fortress, and Macedonia Square are a short walk away. The hotel is quiet, has a good buffet breakfast, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. I strongly recommend this hotel."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Markova Susica?
The best area to stay in Markova Susica is the village centre itself, particularly around the Markovi Kuli (Marko's Towers) monastery complex.

This area is the heart of the village and offers direct access to its main points of interest. The monastery, with its historic church and surrounding grounds, is the focal point. Accommodation options here are typically guesthouses or traditional village homes that have been thoughtfully converted, offering a genuine local experience. The village is relatively small and spread out, so staying centrally means you're never far from the local footpaths and the few eateries available.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find this area particularly appealing. The quiet surroundings of the monastery provide a serene backdrop for relaxation, and the opportunity for scenic walks directly from your accommodation is a major draw. It's a wonderful place to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

For travellers interested in cultural exploration and local village life, staying near the monastery is ideal. You'll be able to easily explore the historic site, observe local traditions, and perhaps even participate in village activities.
When is the best time to go to Markova Susica?
The best time to go to Markova Susica is during the late spring or early autumn months.

For those who enjoy pleasant weather for outdoor activities, late spring (May to early June) offers comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. The countryside is lush and green, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty around the Markovi Kuli (King Marko's Towers) or taking a leisurely stroll through the village. It's also a good time to visit before the peak summer crowds, ensuring a more tranquil experience.

Early autumn (September to early October) is another excellent period. The summer heat has subsided, with temperatures generally between 10°C and 20°C, superb for hiking or enjoying the local produce. The changing colours of the leaves add to the scenic appeal of the region, and it's a fantastic time for photography.
